Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with LivZen: Meditation Daily (the “App”).

LivZen is a simple meditation app designed to work primarily on your device, without requiring an account. We do not sell your personal information.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

The App may store the following information on your device only:

  • Display name — an optional name you enter in Settings, used for greetings within the App.
  • App preferences — such as theme (light/dark/auto), color vibe, background sound choice, favorite session duration, daily goal, and reminder settings.
  • Meditation history — including session completion time, planned duration, and actual time meditated.
  • Tip-related preferences — such as when a tip prompt was last shown or when you last left a tip, so we do not show prompts too frequently.

We do not collect this information on our own servers.

Information collected automatically

The App does not automatically collect identifying information such as your email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or browsing history.

The App may read your device’s local time zone to schedule optional daily reminders at the correct local time. This is processed on your device.

Device permissions

Depending on how you use the App, you may grant:

  • Notifications — only if you enable “Gentle reminder” in Settings. We use this permission to send local meditation reminders. You can disable reminders in the App or turn off notifications in your device settings at any time.

We do not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photo library, or location.

iOS Home Screen Widget (iOS only)

If you add the LivZen home screen widget, a limited set of information is shared between the App and the widget through Apple’s App Group storage on your device. This may include:

  • Whether you meditated today
  • Your current streak
  • Minutes meditated today
  • Which days you meditated this month
  • Theme colors used by the widget

This data stays on your device and is used only to display the widget.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide core App features, including timers, history, streaks, and goals
  • Personalize your experience (for example, greetings and appearance)
  • Schedule optional local reminders
  • Display the iOS home screen widget
  • Manage optional in-app tip prompts

We do not use your information for advertising or cross-app tracking.

In-App Tips and Purchases

LivZen is free to use. You may optionally leave a one-time tip to support development.

Tips are processed through:

  • Apple App Store (on iOS), and/or
  • Google Play (on Android), and
  • RevenueCat, which helps manage in-app purchases

When you make a tip, payment is handled by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

RevenueCat and the applicable app store may receive information related to the purchase, such as:

  • Product purchased
  • Purchase date
  • Transaction identifiers
  • Device or app-related identifiers needed to process and validate purchases

Third-Party Services

Aside from app store billing and RevenueCat for optional tips, the App does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising networks, social login providers, or cloud account services.

Background meditation sounds included in the App are bundled with the App and played locally. We do not stream your meditation activity to external audio services.

Data Storage and Retention

All meditation history and settings are stored locally on your device using on-device storage mechanisms.

We do not operate a user account system or backend database for your meditation data.

If you uninstall the App, locally stored App data is generally removed from your device. Data shared with the iOS widget may also be removed when the App is deleted, depending on your device and iOS version.

Purchase records may be retained by Apple, Google, and/or RevenueCat according to their own policies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We do not share your meditation history or settings with third parties except:

  • When required to process optional in-app tips through Apple, Google, and RevenueCat, as described above
  • When required by law, legal process, or governmental request
  • To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, us, or others

Because your core App data stays on your device, we generally cannot access or export it unless you contact us and voluntarily provide information.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information handled by the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Since most of your data remains on your device, you should also protect your device with a passcode, biometric lock, or other security features.

Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own servers.

Because the App does not require account creation and stores optional information locally on the device, any name or usage data entered in the App remains on the user’s device under the control of the device owner or parent/guardian.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us directly through a support request, please contact us using the support option on the App’s store listing and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Your Choices and Rights

You can:

  • Choose whether to enter a display name
  • Enable or disable reminders at any time
  • Change or clear your preferences in Settings
  • Delete your data by uninstalling the App

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing. Because we do not maintain user accounts or centrally store your meditation data, we may not be able to access or delete information that exists only on your device. In those cases, uninstalling the App is the most effective way to remove local data.

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you may contact us through the support option on the App’s store listing to exercise applicable rights. We will respond as required by law.

International Users

If you use the App from outside your home country, your information may be processed according to this policy and the policies of third-party services you choose to use (such as Apple, Google, or RevenueCat).

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice within the App or on the page where this policy is hosted.

Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
